Yesterday, when I drove home in the small, average-looking car, I found the cutest dog ever, right on my door-step. He looked at me and wagged his tail hopefully, vaccuum-cleaned the floor of the car (Cheerios! Variously flavoured crumbs!), and then sat against my leg and gave me the Lost Puppy Eyes. Like I am equiped to resist.

So I piled one Tadpole and one ENORMOUS black dog into the small car and drove off to the Humane Society. Tadpole complained a little that the dog was BIG and took up the whole space, and whimpered when he began going over her clothes, looking for lost crumbs. So I called him over, "Come here! Sit! Good boy! Good Boy!" which he ignored completely. He got caught between the front seat and the back seat and attacked a complicated dog manoeuver to entangle himself. He then stood still on the back seat, until I had to brake quickly and he fell off (oops).

Still: we arrived safe and sound, and he obeyed very well to all the orders the nice lady over there gave him, maybe because she called her a good girl. Which she was. (No, I hadn't checked.)

Today, I checked the website, and she is nowhere to be found. I think they update on the fly, and I have good hope that her family found her. *crosses fingers* I would have kept her, she was so much better-mannered than the cat -- but the cat of course, would have had objection of the scratchy, hissing kind.

Then today we got the van back! Yay! It's still full of crumbs, though. I wished we'd had the van to take the dog to the Humane Society, though, cos a) more space, b) more crumbs.

And Froglet lost her second tooth, at school, and brought it back in an envelope, and then they opened the envelope at home, and the tooth rolled under the TV and down to the basement through a whole in the floor. Froglet is very sad, of course, but we have drawn a picture of the tooth, and written "dent perdue" on the drawing, and then we put the whole thing under her pillow. "I never knew the tooth fairy existed for real", she whispered to me. "Maybe she doesn't", I hinted. "But then, who would take my tooth and leave me a surprise?", she exclaimed.

Like we never give her anything. Kids. ;)
