Not because you have to, but because you WANT to! Things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it to your journal... and then tag 5 friends and ask them to post it to theirs.

For [livejournal.com profile] bloodrebel333, who tagged me AGES ago, and for myself, cos I am feeling down and I need to be reminded of Good Things.

1) Tickling a Tadpole. :D Or a Froglet, only Froglet's limbs are longer and she's a lot stronger, so it usually ends up with the Tickler getting hurt by a pointy elbow or knee. Also, cuddling the girls, cos they're cuddly and affectionate and they're still at the age where hugs and kisses are always welcome. Nothing lifts my spirits like hearing them laugh or whisper "love you, mum" in my ear.

2) Reading a Good Novel. Happy endings optional but preferred. Thinky novels a must.

3) Listening to music. The kind of music depends on the mood I am in, and I love all sorts of music.

4) Sitting in a sunny room on a winter day. Now, I don't really like heat much, but I am a sucker for crisp, sunny winter days, where I can sit in the sunniest room in our house and just bask in the light.

5) GOOD COFFE! No, really. The first coffee in the morning is one of the highlights of my day, but I also have to shamefacedly admit that seasonal flavoured lattes are my Guilty Pleasure *hides*. (Yes, I know: very un-European. But OMG so yummy.)

6) Good Food. Good God, going to a good restaurant with Husband is one of the greatest pleasures, EVER. Oh, and Good Wine to go with it. Anything that completely tickles my palate.

7) Watching a Really Crappy Movie with Husband and making fun of everything/everyone.

8) Talking to a Special Friend. (And for one of you who may be reading this: yes, that means you.)

9) A Hot Bubble Bath. With a book, and a scented candle, and complete peace and quiet. mmmmmm.

10) Any combination of the above. :D Lock me in a comfortably warm, sunny room with a latte, yummy croissants, good music and a good book and I am in heaven, really. What more can I say?

I'm not tagging anyone, cos I have no idea who's done it before and who hasn't, but I'd love to see you guys make that list; I'd like to know what makes you happy, so if you'd like to share -- please go ahead.
la_rainette: (COWGIRL!)
It's dinner time at rainette's.

Froglet: Today was TOOTH DAY.
rainette: Oh? How?
Froglet: Byron lost a tooth, and Philip lost a tooth.
rainette: wow.
Froglet *takes deep breath and starts talking at machine-gun speed*: Well, Byron lost a tooth, and then Philip got jealous, and then he grabbed his tooth and PULLED IT OUT. He twisted it, and there was BLOOD, BLOOD everywhere, and he just pulled and pulled and the tooth came out and ew ew ewwwwwww so much blood, SO. MUCH. BLOOD. His kleenex was so full of blood there wasn't a single white spot left, and I was like UEEEEEERGH how gisgusting. *is out of air, stops, takes deep breath *
rainette *sits still, her fork frozen in mid-air*
Froglet *forks in a huge heap of pasta*: Whassup, mummy, aren't you hungry?
rainette *puts fork down slowly*: No, not that much anymore. I wonder what happened to my appetite.

If you're on a diet, and if the sight of blood or the SOUND OF BREAKING TEETH bothers you -- you can borrow the Froglet at meal times if you want, she's a tremendous help, really.
