This is the view from my new classroom. I am going to miss the view of the roof with its endless array of random stuff thrown by careless people, kids and grownups alike. Over the years, I saw the following objects lying on that roof: a sports bag, one left shoe, a plastic plane, about a million balls of different sizes and shapes, a sad and lonely pink stuffed rabbit (don’t tell Tadpole), a bottle of Absolut Vodka, a small plastic Eiffel Tower. I loved watching it in the wintertime, right after a snowstorm - with all its snow-covered balls, the roof looked as if it had a horrible case of acne (or possibly chickenpox). I took countless pictures of it, documented all its states. I am going to miss it.
I’m not too unhappy about the move, though. Right now my new classroom is very very hot (there is no A/C), but I am sure I’ll enjoy the south exposure more and more as the days get shorter.
Also, see that tree across the street? That is one SPECTACULAR little maple tree - it turns a particularly flamboyant red in the fall. So, you know: instead of taking pictures of a concrete roof, I’ll take pictures of a colorful maple tree.
And that is fine by me. :)
