Date: 2011-09-12 12:09 am (UTC)I probably laughed harder than I should have, because I suddenly flashed back on 1999 when I was stationed in Bosnia and I sent my mother a similar message over AOL IM: "They shot down a MiG nearby, but don't worry, everything is fine." I'm pretty sure I used the same flippant phrasing (with almost no helpful information) that your kid did. My poor mother!
