I am a little tired of tumblr right now. I feel overwhelmed with the whole US political context right now and half my dash is about politics and the other half about iambic poems about cows and I AM SO DONE WITH THE COW (may it lik the bred in peace).

Thing is, many of my old LJ and DW friends migrated to tumblr, and if I only post here they won't see my posts... so I don't know.

ANYWAYS: my rock choir just had a concert and I posted videos! :D I hope you enjoy them. They're friends-locked but if you'd like to see them and don't have access, let me know.

What can I bribe you with to leave tumblr? 'Cause I'll do it. ;)

Can you explain what it is you don't like about Imzy? Because it's all about communities (plural)--the entire company is built around producing what you say here that you're looking for. What have you tried doing there, and why has it not worked for you?

For my part I can say that my own attitude toward it changed a lot when I stopped trying to recreate old communities over there with pre-existing friends and started thinking of it as a way of interacting with new people about new things. For me it's not high-traffic enough yet to truly be my "home" online, but it's getting there, and there are a few communities that I really enjoy. I've met people I like enough to want to meet them in person someday. I also really, really like the way it deals with anonymity and pseudonymity in an innovative way that's both accepting of people's needs with respect to those things and respectful of the need to prevent abuse.

I was so done with the cow meme, and then I was somehow lured into composing one of the poems about a field of science and they are weirdly fun to make, if still not particularly interesting to read most of the time. (I like the original, and a few of the weirder variants, but so far I have not actually posted any, just occasionally inflicted them on friends in chat.) But I am definitely reading with one finger on the scroll button depending on my tolerance for US politics right now, which as I am a USAian vacillates wildly between wanting to be informed and wanting to unplug.

Anyway, DW is still much more my home! Even if... I hardly ever post... though really that's true on tumblr too. I keep meaning to, I say weakly and sheepishly.

Tumblr isn't so much a place - to me- for like posting about my life, so I never understood why so many people blog hopped over there. To me its just random scrolling and seeing kitties and things :/

Having lost so many friends on LJ makes it hard to post like I used to over here though :<

Pretty much, yes - I don't get a feeling of community on tumblr at all. I miss the old LJ days. <3

I definitely miss those haydays of LJ! It doesn't seem to me like any other site (DW, tumblr, twitter, etc) catches it the way it was here.
