Have been spamming other people's journals in a frenzy of exasperation with myself.

So I said I would be blissfully away when PoA hits the screens. True, and honestly? No competition whatever. Am very, very happy to go on a women's week-end, away from the (lovely) kids and (lovely) husband. I shall bring along a pile of books. And I shall bark sternly at anyone who tries to get me to do anything but read in peace and silence (though I may actually bring my portable CD player, another joy I too often have to do without lest tadpole and froglet kill each other/the cat/the furniture and I can't hear them). And if they insist, I will bite.

However.

Have just followed a link over to Yet Another PoA trailer. With French subtitles. Announcing PoA's release on June 2nd.

June 2nd?

June 2nd?

So I went looking and found Yet Another Other trailer, on the French official site. That one was dubbed in French.

As a professional translator, I am now consumed with Envy. God, what a cool job that must be, translating PoA into French, and you get to see the movie before everyone else. Granted, you get to see it 373 times in one month, and by the time it is released your main goal in life is probably to stay away from anything PoA, which must be a Major challenge.

As someone who just said she didn't feel like she cared that much anymore, I feel extremely annoyed with myself.

As a French person currently living in Toronto, and a Harry Potter fan to boot (and there aren't that many adult Harry Potter fans in france: the books don't translate well, the French version is really strictly for kids), I feel like banging my head against the wall. Why can't I be in Paris right now? Why? And why, God, why do I care?

*sighs deeply*

Now that tadpole has her own treatment against conjunctivitis (against which she screamingly rebels, nothing is new under the sun), froglet is happy to show what a good, sensible girl she is ("Can I have the ointment now, mommy? Please? I won't kick you, I promise"). Both sets of eyes have improved dramatically over the last 24 hours, so we're almost back to normal.

Have a good day, y'all.
