T-ball and lallydions
May. 26th, 2004 08:43 pmSecond game tonight - the kiddies are starting to grasp the meaning of the game, and so am I - I now grumble when Tadpole insists on playing according to her own agenda rather than watching her sister. I cheer with the rest of the parents, now that I know when.
One great moment: Froglet on first base. With a tiny, cute guy from the other team. Gesturing with her hands.
Coach: "Froglet! what's she doing?"
Why, chatting up the cutie from the other team, what do you think? :D
And Tadpole, trying hard to blow lallydions, and failing utterly: taking great big breaths, going all red in the face, and fffff!, fffff!, ffffff!: her teeth kept getting in the way. Which eerily reminded me of her last birthday: she couldn't blow the candles (fffffff! ffffff!), and I have a picture of her bending over, with husband's big hand on her head, pressing her forward. And then - I vividly remember the weird smell, and Husband going all red in the face and blowing hard. And Tadpole squinting up at her singed bangs :D
And after the game, the girls had "I spleam" with Joey. And it was, all in all, an extremely enjoyable evening.
You know, I'm starting to believe that game could grow on me.
Especially the "I spleam" part :D

She was born with one ear plastered to her cheek, so... it still tends to stick out. It used to be worse though. Much worse. One of my agreement with husband is, if she ever gets teased by other kids about this one day and wants to get it fixed, we'll do it, no questions asked. It'll be entirely up to her.
