bath time

The girls are playing in the bathtub, and I just wish they would stop playing crocodile, first because it's extremely messy, as the mauled swimmer is putting up a good fight, but also because I can't help from running over to the bathroom whenever one of them bellows HELP at the top of her lungs.

I then arrive at full speed, sliding in a puddle of water, out of breath and pale with fright, and two serious little faces turn up to me, two pairs of very dark eyes scrutinize my face, and Froglet says in her best reasonable voice: "Yes, mommy?"

I've done it twice already.

After the second time, Froglet looked at me with a worried frown and said: "Stop doing that, you scared me, mommy." I scared her?

Will now go sit on the couch and have a heart attack and a piece of lovely home made ice-cream with strawberry sauce (only since I am French it is called nougat glacé et son coulis de fraise, and it's to die for. At least I'll enjoy my heart attack.)

Lucky!

Well, that sounds delicious!

I must say, I came downstairs to read this after an HOUR up with my own bathing beauties. Which I cannot yet leave alone in the bath. Which means I spent AN HOUR trying (failing) to keep my book dry, and yawning, saying, "Are you sure you don't want to get out now? No? Hrrrrmpf."

To me, enjoying ice cream (HOMEMADE!) is the hight of decadence, and interruptions notwithstanding, you are the Queen of Mommies.

:) Well, before I earn a totally unjustified title, let me clarify a few things: while I was having divine nougat glacé, the girls were having a bath and thus didn't partake in my guilty activities, poor things.

Also, I fully acknoledge my selfishness: I am a very indifferent cook (for French standards), but I make splendid desserts because I have a no less splendid sweet tooth :)

So. I am, indeed, the Queen of Sneaky Mommies, who splurges on eat ice cream while her little ones are otherwise occupied :D
