sprained finger
Jun. 2nd, 2004 04:27 pmMy lovely Tadpole fell and sprained the little finger on her left hand. Of course, she then refused to walk (I hurt my hand. I can't walk. Makes sense to any baby) and had to be carried to the doctor's. I had a brief moment of panic when the doctor announced that they'd have to put a cast on her hand if the joint was broken (I am going away this week-end, and Husband would never survive a week-end with an injured Tadpole), but the X-ray was fine. The hand is just badly swollen and very blue.
Then we went down to the pharmacy because she had been so good (the promise of a lollipop is usually enough to assuage the atavistic fear of The Big Bad Doctor), and she got to choose two lollipops: one for her, one for her sister (who was at school).
Froglet just came back from school, and got her lollipop. She said it was very tasty, so I said she should thank her sister for picking it for her.
"Thank you Tadpole!" She bellowed.
"You're welcome!" Tadpole bellowed back.
I must be doing something right. :)
And now my fastidious little hand washer is standing at the sink and trying to wash her hands and whimpering in pain. And I cannot get her to understand that she can't just wash a bruise away...
