Bring back my Papy to me
Jun. 24th, 2004 12:09 pmHusband just called, he took Papy downtown today (using the TTC - subway and streetcars, Husband usually cycles but he thought it would be best if he showed Papy around a little). They have decided to meet this afternoon and return home together.
For in the streetcar (which he insists on calling Tramway), Papy suddenly exclaimed: "look! A sholl bus. What is a sholl bus? I see them everywhere!"
It was, of course, Papy-pronounciation for School bus.
He'll never make it on his own with just his vocabulary sheet on "How to visit a city" (which might as well have been called "How to visit London" as most of the terms are purely British and wouldn't make sense to the locals even if Papy knew how to pronounce them right).
