OK, OK, OK, "do not panic" is next on the agenda.

The good news is, Tadpole is doing great in her programs. Just great. And she loves being a Big Girl and have her very own activities, as long as she can play baby with me in the evenings.

The bad news is, I have people arriving tomorrow. The house isn't ready. The shopping isn't done. Both Tadpole and Froglet finish at the same time this afternoon (3:45) and Froglet is expected downtown at 4:15. So: I have to pull Tadpole out of Playschool early (hear her whine), then I have to pull Froglet out of class early too (see her run away with her best friend, paying me no heed), and then I have to use my Paris-honed driving skills to be downtown on time without getting a ticket killing anyone.

The worst news is: yes, that the timetable for every Wednesday until January, when it gets much worse.

GAH!!!

Off to clean the house.

PS: [livejournal.com profile] sir_gareth, thank you so very much for ze icon, which suits today's mood just fine...

So, the elves are still no-shows, eh? *whacks elves with Lucius Malfoy's pimp-cane for you* I can really sympathize with the having-to-be-in-several-places-at-once thing. I bet all mothers can.

I'll have to see if I can find a Douglas Adams "Don't Panic!" icon for you...

*wails* the elves were all killed at Helm's Deep.

I'd love a don't panic icon, BTW, if you can find one! I have lots of icon space still... (I bought myself extra pictures, which I do not know how to make. Isn't that typical?)

Oh, WOW! *Gapes at unbelievable photos of stairways* Oh, yes, thank you very much! :D

(Did you notice? Am still here typing instead of cleaning the house, WAH! Am hopeless procrastinator.)

May I take 5, Ma'am? Please?

Still not done. On its way though.

Am going to shoot a few elves when I'm done.

*wails* the elves were all killed at Helm's Deep.

If they hadn't freaking been where they weren't supposed to be, they wouldn't have freaking been killed...*stomps off muttering about Peter Jackson*

Er. Weren't they supposed to be there?

No, they weren't. Immediately after Theoden's big speech about how nobody loves us, everybody hates us, we're gonna go eat worms, suddenly the marching elves with awesome music and synchronized glaring show up--not canon. Although indeed very cool.

The Rangers were supposed to come to the rescue, what was left of the royal bloodline from way back when--Aragorn's very distant cousins. But to have them there, the movie would have had to explain who they were, and give them some sort of backstory so that we would care about them, and then the movie would have had to be approximately five hours long. (Not that most of us would have complained...)

Instead we got Haldir of Lothlorien leading a detachment of elves from Rivendell--yeah, makes perfect sense to me. It did make for some extremely angsty drama when he got whacked, though. Some random Ranger getting scalped wouldn't have had near the emotional impact.

Here's one if you like Douglas Adams:

If not, let me know what type of pic you'd like with the text. I like messing with icons, and it's not like I have much else to do...*twiddles thumbs*

ditto on the icon! Nice job.

Sending you good vibes, lots of humor, and extra change for a chocolate bar on the way into town. Don't forget to pack snacks for the babies (keeps 'em quiet, too) and water.

Good luck!

ah, yes, pack snacks *packs snacks*

They'll still ask for the local cafe's cookies, though. (Because, hey: so much better than homemade madeleines! My kids are insane...)

Insane, but they have good taste! Just teach them to marry rich men ;)

I bought the cookie. They took one bite. Decided they finally did prefer the madeleines. So they ate my madeleines, and I all I had was a lousy chocolate chip cookie.

*sighs*

Man, hectic. Is there no one you can share lifts with?

Unfortunately not. I'm the only mom nuts enough around who has one daughter in an English speaking playschool, another in French speaking Kindergarden and both at the Royal Conservatory of Music downtown...

*hugs too* Hey, it's good to hear from you, hope you're doing better!

Mmm, better. Not good, but better. I worship the healing powers of soup.

What're they doing, music-wise?

They're doing a Eurythmics class, and man, is that ever a good class! I wish Wendy'd let me in, cos it's so. Much. Fun. (Alas, she works only with the kids, the parents are expected to wait outside.)

I'll write a whole entry on that class, because it totally rocks. Er, whenever I take my next five minutes.

don't hit me, Ma'am Skye, I'm going back to work right now, I promise
