I am trying to dress my girls for a party (i.e., no pants, because they want to look like princesses. Will pay well for a photo of an authentic princess in jeans). I have located 5 blue socks for Tadpole. And I still do not have one single useable pair.

Husband tells me that is absolutely normal in a household like ours.

Help me, I am going insane.

also, I don't mind them wearing odd socks. but Tadpole will have none of it

The Paper Bag Princess! She wore a paper bag, actually, not jeans, but you reminded me of this book I used to read so much when I was younger, The Paper Bag Princess (http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0920236162/ref=sib_db_rdr/104-4682077-5341507#reader-page) by Robert Munsch. All of his books, actually. I had 50 Below Zero memorised... Have you read any of his books? (I know this is v. OT. Shhhh)

And of course you can't find a decent pair of socks that your daughter would actually agree to wear. That would be too easy. XD

Husband found a decent pair of socks, and put them on her, and didn't tell me, so that I went on runnning crazily about the house... until I noticed Tadpole had socks on. grrrr.

I have to buy a Robert Munsch book for the girls. I don't know him much because he isn't known in France, but I went to a Munsch kiddie-show with the girls and it was great fun.

Oh no! Think of all that time that was wasted - you could have been on some other crazy mission, like finding a pair of shoes or some sippy cups! (both have proven problematic in our house.)

I always read Robert Munsch when I was younger, and he has written something like 15 books since I stopped reading. Tell me which one you get! :D

"The Mud Puddle" was a great success with the girls when we went to see the Munsch plays, so I'm going to get them that, for sure.

Yeah, shoes and sippy cups... I tend to find sippy cups all over the place, filled with unspeakable gunk becasue they had gone missing for a while *shudders* Shoes I try to keep track of, but I'm not necessarily successful, alas.

I don't remember that one very well - aka I didn't read it until the pages fell out :D but you really can't go wrong. I hope the girls like it.

My stepmom makes massive sweeps of the house, car and stroller on occasion and manages to collect massive amounts of sippy cups - more than I thought we even owned. Scary ^_~
