BULLDOZER!!! BULLDOZER ON MY FRONT YARD!!!

And here I thought a centipede in the sink was bad.

They're redoing all the pipes in our street, so they're basically digging up a dozen holes today. Add that to the dozen they dug yesterday, that's a lot of potential hazards for little ones if I start thinking along those lines I'll have a breakdown in half an hour places to hide when playing hide and go seek. *stares at last bit*. bugger that's even worse.

Also, they are giving us the opportunity to replace our plumbing too, at least what goes from the main pipe to our homes, for less money than if we planned it independently ("well, we're here already, and so's the hole. Whaddaya think?") and the neighbour said yes. So now they're drilling a hole in the wall of his garage, which is directly next to our house. VIBRATING WALLS!!! HELP!!!

My driveway is still intact, and smugly looking at me, cos I CAN'T BLOODY GET THERE! *weeps*

On the other hand, if we start a war in the next week, I already have all the trenches I need.

at least it's not a bulldozer you have to lie down in front of, like arthur dent.

[continues trying to come up with bright sides]

As long as it only attacks the neighbour's wall and driveway, I won't try anything that stupid heroic.

Also, am not sure they would actually stop.

So go and lie down in front of the bulldozer! *reads comments* Dangit. Somebody already beat me to that one.

Also, during your time of trial you may enjoy reading "Archer's Goon" by Diana Wynne Jones, which features homeowners under siege. It's sort of fantasy YA, but I still like it. However, you can't get to the library to check it out, so never mind.

No, actually, I can. The car is parked outside the hole perimeter. I just have to carry Tadpole over to it, is all (she can walk, of course, but she's very attracted to the holes).

*makes notes* thanks!

Wah, no, if YM is any sort of instant messaging. I am technologically challenged and also need time to collect my thoughts in order to set them out in any type of coherent order (and look how well I do at that *grins*).

ah, yes, it is. That's OK.

Are you interested in a BIG LONG BORING post on French politics? actually, a long post on the constitution of the fifth republic, which is absolutely fascinating in itself, so strike the boring :D , but big and long is for sure.

Sure! Thus far, what I know of French politics is what I learned from watching "The Scarlet Pimpernel" with Jane Seymour and some blond dude. And that might perhaps be a bit out of date. (But oh, teh hotness in the library!)

I completely agree with what you said about us being able to discuss politics without going for each other's throats (hopefully!) Because at the end of the day, we most likely have more in common than whatever our political differences.

Well, that's what happenswhen you YM occasionally: you post before you're done thinking!

Your thoughts are very coherent and collected, always.

Yes, but unlike centipedes, bulldozers don't have all those creepy legs!

:D One should always have a nap before firing the missiles. Hum, if I knew how to make icons I'll make one with that sentence on, cos it makes so much sense.
