I spent an hour this afternoon translating a press release for the RCMP with a friend. *collapses* It was a test for speed, hence the one hour limit. But oh, how wonderful it is, to read that text and feel that great big muscle in the middle of my brain shudder and stretch and come to life again and then flex. It's great to know I can still do that on command leik wo.

I now know what wet marijuana is, and no, it's not what's left when you fall asleep in the bathtub and the joint slips from your lips.

I was so exhilarated and excited after finishing that translation that I actually tried to put my shoes on Tadpole's feet. *ahem*

Otherwise, the bulldozer is gone (yay!) and the walls have stopped shaking. I expect the cat to crawl out of whichever hiding place she fell asleep in any day now.

Tadpole *frowns* MY house!
rainette: yes, sweetpea.
Tadpole *points to bulldozer* Il est pas très très gentil. (it isn't very nice)

Well, no, it isn't. But some of the holes have been filled in and I will call it a satisfying result even if it is not. And Husband is pleased, cos they took care of the lawn before he did. Now he doesn't have anything left to do to prepare the lawn for next spring, cos hey, NO MORE LAWN!

And a little family silliness to finish:

Tadpole *sings loudly* PIZZA PIZZA lalalalalala...
Husband: What's that? I know that tune...
rainette: It's Abba's Super Trouper.
Husband: ?
rainette *giggles*

I shouldn't play Abba in the car. As a matter of fact, I shouldn't listen to Abba, period. But see, we went to see Mamma Mia, and then I asked Husband if we had an Abba CD, and Husband glared and said that yes, we did, as a matter of fact I had bought him one for his birthday (yes, but which one? We've been together a while, and if that dates back to his Abba loving day, it's a bloody old CD), and then I unearthed it and put it in the CD player in the car.

And now whenever I want to take it out, two small voices protest loudly that they want to listen to pizza pizza again, pleasepleaseplease. Occasionally, I manage to interest them into Cirque du Soleil for a few minutes, and they sing Alegria, in Italian (and yes, it does feature quite a few pizzas too). But most of the time, it's Abba they want.

*sighs deeply* Kids.

So what *is* wet marijuana, then?

Oh, it's marijuana laced with emblaming fluid (of all things) or PCP (which is a strong hallucinogen susbtance).

And I now have this mental image of The Mummy (as played by Boris Karloff) smoking a joint *facepalm*

Oh, I see. It's all so clear to me, now. *g* I'd actually heard of that (thank you, television), but I didn't know that was what it was called.

And that, darling? Was not a mental image I needed. *runs away*

:D I had never heard of it. What effect does it have, do you know? IMPROVED marijuana, or something?

And isn't the mental image evil though?

:D I still like them. I was a big fan back in the 80s -- I even saw them in concert once, in Germany. I remember being so scared, because we'd be driving there and back in the one evening, and I forced myself not stay awake in case the driver fell asleep (and he did, so good thing I didn't).

I've learned something new. I had no idea what wet marijuana was. This merely proves my theory that people will injest anything.

Oh, yes. It's funny though, cos Tadpole will not eat anything that fell on the floor (not the ground outside, but our floor, which is reasonably clean), even when her fingers are COVERED IN MARKER and thus anything she touches takes up a murky colour.
