Tadpole the businesswoman

Hullo! *waves* I am finally done with the Job Of Doom. I spent a full week doing nothing else than work, work, work, from morning to late into the night, and I finally got it done. It is not the best job I have done in my life, my work is usually more polished, but I did my best in what little time I had.
And boy, am I ever glad I am done! Now I can relax and enjoy March break with the girls -- or not. Cos wherever we go, the rest of Toronto goes too and the crowds are unbelievable. Well, at least I am with them, not with a bunch of oncologist who cannot make a sentence run from point A to point B without getting sidetracked by X, Y and Z, thus making mile-long sentences that I then have to translate into English (and I have to make sure it makes sense even if it actually didn't to begin with, how fun).
Now, while I was Working, I believe Tadpole has been inventing new interesting games. Tadpole has taken to play a lot with her Barbie suitcase, for instance: she pulls it around, looking busy and important, as if she were about to board a plane (as if she were an Important Businesswoman on an Important Business trip, only she usually takes off all her clothes first, so she is a Naked Businesswoman with a Suitcase in an Airport, interesting concept), and then all of a sudden she stops and sits on the suitcase and looks bored (as if the airline had suddenly gone on strike).
rainette: your Barbie suitcase is pretty, Tadpole.
Tadpole *beams and pulls suitcase over to rainette, tries to hold it up and almost lets go*
rainette *catches suitcase* oooh, that is a heavy suitcase!
Tadpole *nods, grabs handle and pulls suitcase around the living-room*
rainette *smiles and waves to Tadpole*
Tadpole *waves back, drops suitcase, runs off to play somewhere else*
rainette *goes back to her book*
suitcase *twitches*
rainette *JUMPS*
suitcase: MEOWW!
rainette: TADPOLE!!! *opens suitcase*
cat *runs off and hides*
The cat is out of the bag, and my daughter is a monster. *facepalm*

Date: 2005-03-17 09:16 am (UTC)You and the girls and Mr Rainette (to whom I always refer in my head as Mr Grenouille) need to come here and we'll take them around DC.

Date: 2005-03-17 02:39 pm (UTC)Mr Grenouille *giggles* goes to Washington for business sometimes, next time he goes I'll try to see if we could join him. That would be fun! I'd love to meet you guys.

Date: 2005-03-17 09:32 am (UTC)That really shouldn't be as funny as it is.
I'm glad to hear from you every now and again, lovely- I do miss you. I shall have to send you a thoroughly random email.
My Yahoo Messenger is dead. It crashes the computer every time I attempt to start it, so I can't catch you there. :(

Date: 2005-03-17 02:42 pm (UTC)I do have a picture of 8-month-old Froglet in a travelling bag carried by Husband, though. She had climbed in there, and we though she looked hilariously cute. Hum. I'll post it if I can find it.

Date: 2005-03-17 02:45 pm (UTC)Yes, Tadpole has a way of running (naked) to the door when anyone rings, too. That scares the crap our of some adults. Also, she will lock the door of the washroom when she goes pee-pee, but then she comes out with her panties around her ankles and ask me to help her get dressed. *headthunk*

Glad you're back!

Date: 2005-03-17 11:52 am (UTC)Whole entry (minus Job of Doom) made me laugh out loud. My web design neighbour is staring at me ... Putting things in suitcases is fun! E and K stash things in their rolling backpacks, but nothing living thank goodness. Monica pulled out half of Katie's wardrobe the other day, exclaiming "I've been looking for these clothes for weeks!"
...i'm glad you found the kitty fairly quickly! :D

Date: 2005-03-17 08:31 pm (UTC)*huggles your cat*
Since she's fine I feel that it is okay to laugh my head off at this. I would have done that at Tadpole's age only my cat would never have stood for it.

Date: 2005-03-18 05:44 am (UTC)Yes, the cat is OK. Also, she's had her revenge: she slept by Tadpole's feet last night and bit her toes when Tadpole's left foot strayed too close to her. (and the reason I know that is because everyone, EVERYONE except for Froglet, who has always preferred to sleep on her own, finds their way over to our queen-sized bed at night. At some point or other we'll have to upgrade to a king-size.)
