Watching Bambi
Mar. 22nd, 2005 05:36 pmWalt Disney pictures? CONSISTENCY is the word, people. Please. If the female fawn's eyes are blue to distinguish her from Bambi, WHY ARE THEY BROWN ONCE SHE IS ALL GROWN UP?
Trust me, the little ones notice. No, really, they do.
Froglet: Who is that?
rainette: Well, the girl fawn, she grew up.
Froglet: Why are her eyes a different colour?
rainette: ...
Froglet: And why is Bambi's voice all changed?
Next time, you guys deal with the Tricky Questions.
Bambi *flees girl fawn and runs over to two identical does, and hides behind one of them*
Froglet: How does he know she's his mom?
rainette: ?
Froglet *shrugs* They look the same to me. Or are their eyes a different colour, too?
rainette: ...
rainette: See, Bambi plays with her! Ans then later, they will GET MARRIED!
Froglet *reasonable tone*: No they won't. They're FRIENDS.
So much for getting her to marry Joey. Drat.
Bambi's mom *gets killed*
Froglet: THE HUNTERS SHOOTED BAMBI'S MOM!!!!
rainette: shot
Froglet: WHAT?
rainette: they shot Bambi's mom
Froglet: ...
rainette: ...
Froglet: Bambi's really lucky.
rainette: ?
Froglet: his mom is dead, but he's still got his dad.
rainette *feels horribly expendable all of a sudden*
Animals *pair up and cuddle for Spring Has Come*
Flowers *fall from sky, subtly hiding from our view the various zoological NC17 scenes that probably unfold somewhere in the depth of the forest, if the many offsprings that later appear are any indication*
Froglet *dreamy tone* Ah, love! Love!
rainettte *snorts tea up her nose* ow
Also, we went to the Nutty Chocolatier and I bought Extra-Special German Marzipan chocolate for somebody's birthday (yes, for you over there *winks*) and chocolate eggs for the girls. The aluminum paper around the eggs gave Tadpole a hard time, so she gave up and bit right into it, then spat the paper out.
Froglet: Look at Tadpole! EW!
rainette: Oh, sweet pea, don't eat the paper, please.
Froglet *heartfelt tone* I don't like the paper! I prefer the chocolate egg inside.
Me too. She makes lots of sense, my Froglet.

Date: 2005-03-22 06:42 pm (UTC)I'm still pouting about that.
And now Delenn has beautiful stunning blue eyes and I'm dreading the day when they change...
And mine were blue until I was a year old, dark-mud-brown until I was about 17, and then they turned hazel.
Your kids are so sweet. And so smart!

Date: 2005-03-23 01:02 pm (UTC)My girls were born with dark blue eyes, and one day we realized that their eyes had finally become dark brown (nearly black in Tadpole's case).

Date: 2005-03-22 10:37 pm (UTC)Froglet *reasonable tone*: No they won't. They're FRIENDS.
So I tell my children,
"Look! Their married! Cute!"
"No mom. They're just friends."
"But they're going to have a baby..."
"SHE is. Not Bambi."
It's too much for them. Ironically, they don't think growing up to marry EACH OTHER, or their daddy, is strange.
