The Toronto Transit Commission has just issued its new campaign. The picture shows four (4) planet Earths happily boarding a TTC bus. The text says something along the lines of: "we've transported four times the population of the Earth".

Baffling concept.

Froglet: Oh, EW!
rainette: ?
Froglet: Look, the EARTH. Earths.
rainette: well, the real Earth is much bigger than than that.
Froglet: I KNOW! It has at least one HUNDRED houses!
rainette: a lot more than that, sweetpea. There are about 6 billion people on Earth, you know.
Froglet *frowns* Wow.
rainette: ...
Froglet *frowns*: ...
rainette: ...
Froglet *still frowning*: so, if the Earth were the size of the Earths in that picture, you would need four of them to accomodate all these people?
rainette: :D

Cos honestly, considering the size of the Earth in that picture, it can only comfortably accomodate one person, and even then, it would have to be a Cirque du Soleil contortionist, mark my words.

:D That was her initial reaction upon seeing these four weirdly coloured balls boarding the bus -- and then she identified the planet Earth, which I thought was actually quite smart.

Hello! I've been reading the Petit Prince post that [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge started, and popped by to have a snoop around :D I'm a francophile with a brother living in Toronto, and am also on a bit of a friending spree - I hope you don't mind if I claim you as my next victim?!

I'm just glad they didn't strike.

The poor kidlet would have had nightmares about the world ending.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with your post, but did you know there's an Asterix mood theme (http://www.livejournal.com/users/absolut/221473.html)?

HAH! Thank you! :D

I has a look and spent the first half-hour trying to figure out which picture came from which book (or rather, going, ooooh! I know that face! and then trying to figure out where I'd seen it, but the only ones I'm really sure about are the "Frozen Obelix" ones, that's "Asterix en Hélvétie"), and the next 10 minutes bitching about the use of post-Gosciny pictures (yes, I am a purist. I don't like anything that was done after Gosciny died, because it's just -- not as good, to put it kindly, and I rather resent the commercial exploitation of Asterix after the death of its creator and inspiration).

And then I adopted it :D

So thank you very much! *hugs*
