Froglet: Oh look, Tadpole, a spider! Here on the wall!
rainette *freezes. Spider on the wall?*
Tadpole: No, is ant.
Froglet: no, spider.
Tadpole: no, ant.
rainette *doesn't care whether ant or spider. Insect on the wall is Major Bad News.*
Froglet: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 legs. Mum? What's got 6 legs? The ant or the spider?
rainette: ant
Froglet *frowns*: but it's black and white. Are there black and white ants, do you know?
rainette *arrives with paper towel and tries to examine insect without shuddering*: look, it's got an extra pair of short legs over there. That's 8 legs.
Froglet: It's a spider! I knew it!
rainette *resolutely exterminates spider with towel*
Froglet: bye-bye, spider. *skips away*

Tadpole: ANT! ANT! ANT!
rainette *arrives with paper towel and violently disposes of ant*
Tadpole: is it dead?
rainette: yeah.
Tadpole: YAY!
Husband *sporfles*
Froglet *arrives a-running*: where's the ant?
rainette: it's dead.
Froglet: already?
Husband *laughs out loud*

Ah yes. I'm afraid we don't treat the six- or eight-legged invaders as well as Grissom does, though. I don't care, I want them OUT OF MY HOUSE NOW.
