Thank you!
Sep. 7th, 2004 10:27 amYou guys are awesome, thank you very much! I printed out the comments this morning, and read them to her, and she left with the printed sheets in her backpack. All the comments made her feel important and loved, so thank you for brightening up the Big Day. And beautiful pictures, too!
When I left her, she was still fine. I don't think she's fully realized the impact of what happened, yet.
She's no longer with her groups of friends. Most of them went into the Senior Kindergarden class. Froglet, being bright, independent, and low maintenence - she's impeccably behaved and likes to please her teacher - had been put in the senior/junior mixed class. Not what I had hoped for, of course, but I can't say I didn't expect it. Four other kids from her former class will be with her - all of them independent, bright and well-behaved. One of them is a very good friend of hers, (despite being a boy ;) ), and he can already read, and they love chatting together, so I hope she'll be okay.
She also has the infamous Bobo in her class - Bobo got excluded from school for 2 days last year for throwing a chair into the teacher's face. And he's five.
On the bright side, her teacher is awesome. She was Bobo's teacher last year, too, and word is she can handle him (well, there's been the Chair Incident, but if she's accepted to be his teacher again this year, there must be a good reason to it).
I'll tell you more later, when she comes back (French-speaking school is full days, even in Kindergarden, so she won't be back until 4). I don't know how she'll feel when she realizes that she is now separated from her best friend Camille, for the whole year to come...
