Froglet: Mommy?
rainette: Yes, Froglet.
Froglet: How do you make friends?
rainette: ?
Froglet: Yes, how do you make friends?
rainette: Froglet. You have lots of friends. You know how to make friends.
Froglet: No, I don't.
rainette: Well, how did your more recent friends become your friends? What did you do?
Froglet: But see, that's the thing: I didn't do anything. They just came over and said "hi".

Froglet *writes list with intense concentration*
rainette: what are you doing, my Froglet?
Froglet: I am making the list of friends I want to invite to my birthday party.
rainette *valliantly ignores the fact that Birthday Party is nearly three months away*: Oh, my, but that's a long list you have.
Froglet: Yes! And I have more names to write. How do you write Nicholas?
rainette: Well, you won't be able to invite everybody, you know. You have a lot of friends!
Froglet: I have too many friends. I will never again make new friends, cos I have too many already.

See? Problem solved.

although I won't describe the very long, tedious and "why"-filled conversation that followed on how you actually cannot have too many friends.
