:D [livejournal.com profile] terrylj, thank you so much! Night Watch arrived safely, yay! *hugs* oh, and *twirls*. I'm really excited about it, too. I guess it's been too long since I read my last Discworld novel (yeah, well, I got stuck in Feet of Clay and then just stopped altogether), and I've always loved the Night Watch novels. So, please excuse-me while I squee in a corner squeeeeeee Ahem.

Today also brought a Postcard from Galveston, YAY POSTCARD! Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge. Grand mansion indeed! Even if you only got to see it from a moving vehicle, you must have had some time to look at it cos it's BIG :D

And if you haven't yet read (or even worse: if you haven't yet ORDERED) any of [livejournal.com profile] stange_selkie's books, A Verse From Babylon or Dramatis Personae, her chapbook, why the hell not? Go and read: it's absolutely beautiful. You can even order it from amazon.com!. I feel very unable to do these books justice, but this is what I would say if I could find the right words.

Also, that CD [livejournal.com profile] darthrami burned for us, ah, that CD has had a lot of success with the girls, let me tell you.

Now, Froglet and Tadpole's Ways With Music are very different. Froglet listens to each song intently, and hums along with visible pleasure; once the song is finished, she awaits the next one with joyful anticipation, and when it starts she happily exclaims 8 times out of ten "YAY! My FAVOURITE!". The rest of the time, she'll sing along all the same, even if the song doesn't belong to her current top 10,000. I don't remember her ever frankly disliking a song.

Tadpole, on the other hand, is a Compulsive Listener. She has ONE favourite song, which she will listen to over and over again, until she's sick of it and finds another favourite. Trying to convince her to listen to anything else is pointless, since she will wail, screech, bellow through it all until you finally give up and play the Current Favourite again. Rami, just so you know, the current favourite song is "Don't cross the street in the middle of the block". :D

We all really liked "The Window Song" (Humpty-Dumpty sat on a wall, Humtpy-Dumpty had a great fall, all the king's horses and all the king's men, they threw him out the window), and so did Froglet, who laughed uproariously until we got to Mary's little lamb, and then was HORRIFIED when the little lamb got thrown out the window. I don't think she would have cared half as much if the lamb had thrown Mary out the window. :D

:) Anyways, THANK YOU, we love the new CD very much.

And NNY! PLEASE TELL US!!! *keeps the crossables crossed, and sends MUCH LOVE*

The whole album of NO by They Might be Giants is BRILLIANT. I still sing "No means no, no is always no, if I say no it means a thousand times NO!" to my children all. the. time!

*takes notes*

Although Tadpole is better at ignoring me than I will ever be at saying NO.

Humpty-Dumpty sat on a wall, Humtpy-Dumpty had a great fall, all the king's horses and all the king's men, they threw him out the window...

...the window, the second story window, high low, low high, they threw him out the window?

If that is indeed the same song, we sang that on camping trips in girl scouts. *g*

??? Did it detour via slow boat to China? Evidently I don't know enough about mailing internationally yet. :)

I hope you enjoy it! I've got to go re-read it now...

*g* Well, trust me, mailing to and from the US is always a challenge. I once sent two packages at the same time per airmail to the US and to Australia, and the package to Australia arrived first...
