Froglet and Tadpole have been cooped up for the last few days, cos Tadpole is slightly sick. So they've been watching movies, starting with Shrek, and it has given them Ideas.

So yesterday afternoon they took their ponies (the bigger ones: PONIES ON WHEELS!!) and swords and played Knights and Princesses all over the house. When it comes to playing Damsel in Distress, Froglet proclames herself princess, and then she nominates Tadpole as Prince, or Dragon, according to whether she wants to be simply rescued ("My HERO!" she breathes and bats her lashes) or chased ("AAAARGH! DRAGON!"). Predictably, Tadpole likes being a dragon best. When you're Very Small and easily scared, being able to temporarily scare bigger people is always a thrill.

And then, this morning, I found the ponies tethered to the girls' tiny plastic chairs.

With dental floss.

*facepalm*

i love reading about your kids, they remind me so much of mine at that age!! full of questions and wonder and wisdom all rolled up into one. (or two, for that matter) mine are all grown up, or mostly grown now, and it's so nice to read something and laugh, and think, " Becky or Sammi or Chelsea would have, or has done something like that." girls are fun :) most of the time. they do grow up, though.

:D Thank you! Yes, they are fun -- the growing up part scares me a little though, I don't know how I'll manage once they're teenager, wah!

mine are 14, 20 and 22. even when they grow up, they can still be fun! my 14 year old is wise-beyond-her-years, but still a little girl at heart, we have such wonderful conversations! the other two are grown up and moved away, so it's nice to still have somebody to 'play with'. :)

Hence why I keep my floss far far away from childs, grrr my floss.

My boy has an obsession with tying things with whatever string-like things he can find, usually something highly knotted to furniture -.-;

:D They come up with the strangest ideas, don't they? They always come up with something new. I had no idea dental floss could have such attraction for them (and yes, I'll remember to hide mine now).

Yay for Ideas :D

The sort of entertainment kids think up for themselves is more imaginative and absorbing than anything you can provide for them, eh? I miss those sort of games...

I hope Tadpole is better now :)

She is, thank you! :)

Well, yes, they are unbelievably imaginative. And the more kids you're looking after, the more mischief they'll invent (Am babysitting two extra kids this afternoon for a friend, OMG SO SCARYYYYYYYYYY)

:D I know! I never would have thought of that, myself. It's not like you can even foresee what it is you should forbid (just in case), cos they'll come up with something new anyways.

*laughs* they just love it, don't they? Being a dragon is one of Tadpole's favourite, with being a kitten, cos then she comes and licks me on the nose and it makes me laugh. ;)

Your kids are Absolutely Adorable. Dental floss! :D At least they are taking care of their ponies.

(Delenn likes to run round scaring us, too.)

Thank you! :D Well, they love their ponies ;)

Yeah, playing monster is one of Tadpole's old favourites, and she can roar like no-one ;)
