Froglet *watches Cinderella II* That's Love. They're in Love.
rainette *nods vaguely*
Froglet *bats lashes, sighs prettily*
rainette *grins*
Froglet It's like Phil. He's in love with me.
rainette *sits up with a start* How do you know?
Froglet: well, he's always kissing me and hugging me, isn't he?
rainette *blinks*
Froglet: but I'm fed up.
rainette *very carefully* Ah yes?
Froglet *glumly* yeah. Cos then we're always LATE. At the zoo camp, we were always last to arrive anywhere. All the time.
rainette *blinks*

So -- What do you do when a six-year-old boy kisses your 6-year-old girl and hugs her and makes her late? I mean, she SAYS she's fed up, but with a big, self-conscious and slightly smug smile on her face, so how seriously am I supposed to take that?

Dude. She's 6. *fears teenage years leik wo*

ETA
rainette: Well, if you really don't want to be his girlfriend *winces at the thought* why don't you tell him to fall in love with Cecilia instead? Maybe she'd be pleased?
Froglet: nah, I asked her, she's not interested.
rainette: ...

I'm so not ready for this.

I misread that as you suggesting that Froglette tell him that SHE was in love with Cecilia...

*laughs* That'd be hilarious.

At least she has 'her priorities straight' (Late? Woah), I suppose. Better than a six-year-old smirking brother who has a new girlfriend every week while I'm a lifetime older and still single. *is as glum as Froglet*

You should ask him if he makes sure that his girlfriends are always willing ;)

I talked to her a bit more, and she's like "I'm too young to have a boyfriend", which sounds FATASTICALLY MATURE, until she adds "I'm too young to get married, anyway." :D

I shouldn't laugh, well okay maybe just a little.

[livejournal.com profile] thursdays_son has somewhat similar problems. His little girl, who is 4 or 5 (oh god I'm a terrible friend I can't remember) got in trouble for kissing boys at school. He figures he's going to have a heartattack by the time she's a teenager.

I love that she doesn't like that he makes her late. Also that she has apparently already tried to pawn him off on her friends. *huggles froglett* *hands you a drink*

Thank you, I really needed a drink! :D Yeah, she's smart and reasonable -- also, she doesn't like it that other kids laugh when Phil kisses her, I found out. ;)

Tell [livejournal.com profile] thursdays_son that I understand *sighs*

Oh Lord. My 3 year old niece gives a boy kisses and cuddles because he feeds her cookies. I'd hate to think what she'll be like when she's 6.

Children are scary. *shivers*

*cracks up* Well, I guess I should be thankful that she doesn't SELL her kisses and cuddles for cookies and lollipos (but then, Phil never has any sweets to give away cos he'd totally eat them. I have seen him wolf down a big ice-cream cone in 2 minutes flat)

That's hilarious! Terrifying, yes, but also quite funny.

And we'll still be here if you need some sanity once their teenage years come.

*nods glumly* Well. I didn't expect it to start so soon... *sighs* The worst is, I know it's only going downhill from here. *closes eyes*
