Froglet, Tadpole and rainette are on the couch in front of the TV.

Forrest Gump starts, and the little white feather, poetically blown by the wind, dances on the screen.

Froglet: Can we watch that?
rainette: well -- it's a bit sad.
Froglet *gasps* DO PEOPLE DIE?
rainette: erm. Yes, some people die.
Tadpole *points at feather* Do birds die?
rainette *giggles* no, sweetie, birds don't die.
Froglet *gasps some more* DO YOU MEAN THAT THE FEATHER KILLS PEOPLE???
rainette *cracks up*
Froglet: DON'T MAKE FUN OF ME!
rainette: no, the feather is just supposed to be Poetic. You see it at the beginning of the movie, and then it reappears at the end...
Tadpole: How do you know it's the same feather?

RIGHT. Let's go back to Disney, now, shall we?

*giggles* Ahhh kid logic.

My kids were watching Tomb Raider Friday night when our power went out, right at the end of the film, so we didn't actually get to finish it.

So sixty hours without electricity passes. Power comes back on, kids want to watch Tomb Raider. Fair enough.

Through the movie they refuse to take off their coats, extra layers of clothes, and cuddle their flashlights. At the same point where we lost power, they look around expectantly and declare

"Oh goodie! The power didn't go off again!"

In other news, that feather animation was actually done by cinematography students in Indonesia since labor there is cheap. They didn't get credit in the movie though :-P

(I love Hitchcock's The Birds, actually; the scene in front of the school is one of the most beautifully done scenes of mounting suspense I have ever seen)

They're really, really cute :D and they ask the best questions (though sometimes, you really do not have an answer for them, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE COLORISTS AT DISNEY STUDIO FUCK THINGS UP!!!)
