Tadpole: and tonight we're ordering out! I am having SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN *winning smile*
Me: wait, what?
Tadpole *smiles falters a little*
Me: what do you mean, we're ordering Thai food tonight?
Tadpole: daddy said...
Me, to Husband: Oh, we're ordering Thai food tonight? Cool!
Husband: o_O
Me:... we are?
Husband: o_O
Tadpole: Daddy?
Husband: o_O
Me: oh, wait. Today is Valentine's Day.
Husband: o_O
Me: They're having Thai food tonight. We're not.
Tadpole: WHAT DO YOU MEAN, WE'RE NOT! DADDY SAID! DADDYYYY!
Me: ... and it was supposed to be a surprise.
Husband: o_O
Me: Happy Valentine's Day to you too, Husband. Love you.
Tadpole *wails* BUT I WANT THAI FOOOOOOOOD
Me: Tadpole. You ARE having Thai food tonight.
Tadpole: YAY!

Tadpole's love for food ruined Husband's surprise, but I don't care, I am spending the day in happy anticipation of our evening out! \o/

IT WAS STEAK. No, really. :D

Wait, wait wait wait, let me ammend this: it was perfectly cooked, juicy and delicious steak. (Gilles: "this place got only raving reviews with a single caveat: the meat tends to be undercooked..." Me: "hahahahaha like that would scare us")

Gilles started with the best of intention but just like me he's not very good at planning ahead, UNLIKE APPARENTLY EVERYONE ELSE IN TORONTO so he had a a hard time getting a table for Valentine's Day. Hey, I'm not complaining, we had a lovely evening. :D

SHE DID! OMG we'd ordered enough so that we would have leftovers for lunch on Saturday and... there weren't any leftovers. Froglet and Tadpole ate ALL THE THINGS EVER. :D

We had a lovely evening! The (very upscale) steak house we went to was fantastic!

THANK YOU *hugs* It was lovely! We had a grand time and fabulous wine. :D And steak, but not just any old steak: really EXCEPTIONAL steak. (Ok, still steak. :D Husband knows what I like. )
