la_rainetteI've been trying to embed a video but it looks like the site won't let me, so I'm going to post the link instead: Watch Cabu, Wolinski, Tignous and others as they work on the controversial cover of Charlie Hebdo in 2006.
Give this a try, please - it's about 5 minutes long and for the non-French speakers, it's subtitled in English. Nothing I can say will explain these guys and their work better than this: watching them bounce ideas off each other and be their smart, irreverent selves and be reminded that to them, being the court's jester was a serious job.
(Cabu is the dude in the weird shirt, the Joan of Arc bob and the sweet smile. As I've said before, he started his career on a kid's television program that I used to watch when I was a child. He's a bit of an odd uncle to most of France's forty-somethings. Thank you totravels_in_time for pointing me to the site, btw <3 )

CHRISTMAS CAROLS, because there is nothing like being two months late and you're not at all tired of carols by now :D And before you hit me on the head with a shovel, let me just add that the second singer from the left is my Froglet, and that's why I am posting: because my Froglet is all grown up and an awesome singer to boot. So there.

Would you be interested in getting together? (Everything is very tentative now, also it's very far off, but of course it's making me think about you!)
