rainette *is opening Big Box full of small surprises for the kids* Hey, TADPOLE! Come help me unpack this!
Tadpole *arrives a-running*
rainette: I just received the SURPRISES I ordered! You can pick one if you'd like.
Tadpole: YAY! THANK YOU! *rummages in box, pulls out fluffy rabbit toy* ... oh...
rainette: Oh my, Tadpole! A BUNNYRABBIT! Just for you!
Tadpole *hugs her bunnyrabbit and beams with Joy* YES! Now I have SIXTY*!
rainette: ...
Tadpole: I had fifty-nine, now I have one more, that's SIXTY! I have SIXTY bunnyrabbits.
The bunnyrabbits have taken over the world. Good God, I hope they stop breeding.
* Actually, she has 61 rabbits in her room. She doesn't count my stuffed rabbit toy, from when I was a child, because it isn't technically hers, it's just on loan from me. And yes, I do realise that it's a lot of rabbits. What can I do? She just really likes rabbits. :D

Date: 2009-09-29 05:15 pm (UTC)(Always a fan of learning new things. I would have said I was on the weak side of fluent when I fetched up in Paris at age 20, and promptly failed to produce agrafeuse. Ancora imparo, dude. [g])

Date: 2009-09-30 05:21 pm (UTC)There is no French for bunnyrabbit, actually. Maybe because, erm, we EAT rabbits. And people don't necessarily have terms of endearment for food, I suppose :D
When you're ME, however, you tend to call them "titipapin", because this is what Tadpole used to call them when she couldn't yet pronounce "petit lapin" properly, and it's just super cute. :D

Date: 2009-09-30 05:23 pm (UTC)No kidding -- we had to put all her stuffed toys into giant plastic garbage bags for 2 weeks (well, not the very favourite ones, which went into the freezer, but all the other ones) as a measure against headlice contamination, and we filled FIVE BAGS before I gave up and said "no more".
She has that many stuffed toys. And she keeps asking for more!

Date: 2009-09-30 06:52 pm (UTC)It's only when we have to bag all the Not-Quite-Favourite-Stuffed toys in plastic bag (to avoid cross contamination by headlice) and that I RUN OUT OF PLASTIC BAGS that I sort of wonder if we don't spoil her a little bit... :D (Hey, I am fine with that. She's a lovely little girl and it makes her happy)

Date: 2009-10-01 01:30 am (UTC)At least we don't eat rabbits in Australia. Mostly because we infected them with a disease in order to try and kill them all and now we can't eat them but I don't think she needs to know that part :p
