Apr. 24th, 2005 04:16 pmFroglet: Why do you say the medication is good for my health? I'm always sick when you give it to me.
Well, yes, before I give it to you. Before. What about after, huh? Huh?
OK, you've got a point, it's yucky and maybe we should try and do without*.
*yucky makes Froglet cry and Tadpole vomit. QED.

Childhood sicknesses make me afraid to have children. How can you tell when to seek immediate medical attention and when you're totally overreacting over something small?
It used to be that parents can just order their children, "Finish everything on your plate." But now there's all these studies that say children have a better sense of when they are full. Telling your children to eat more will make them lose that sense, thus potentially creating future weight issues, etc.
With everything that children psychology tell us, it's a wonder that any of us grow up to be sane adults.

Date: 2005-04-26 11:09 am (UTC)You can't, that's the thing. I have a history of running to my pediatrician with a feverish Froglet just to be sent back home: "It's too early! There are no symptoms other that the fever. Keep an eye on her and keep me posted", is what her (wonderful and very competent, I should add) pediatrician would tell me.
The one time I saw the replacement person, she exclaimed that Froglet had an ear infection and gave her antibiotics. Two days later, Froglet started throwing up, so another doctor (cos we'd just gone on vacation) saw her and said that she hadn't tolerated the antibiotics the first doctor had given her and gave her another medication. The doctor added: "The antibiotics worked well, though. Can't see a trace of an ear infection".
The following day, Husband and I started throwing up too. Stomach flu. Ahahahaha.
I am much more relaxed with Tadpole, I have to say -- but then my guys are very healthy and seldom have anything worse than a slight fever with a stuffy nose...

Date: 2005-04-26 03:01 pm (UTC)That's great :-) I pray that none of my future children inherits my nosebleeds...The govt. would probably deem me an unfit parent or something if my children have nosebleeds everyday at school...
BTW, chapter one of my fanfic is up at
I also used another French quote in the dedication (http://www.livejournal.com/users/43sunsets/1726.html#cutid1):
car l'amour est de Dieu, et quiconque aime est né de Dieu et connaît Dieu.
Did I get it right?

Date: 2005-05-08 08:20 am (UTC)Yes, I'm OK, things have just been very very hectic over here, so I was a bit out of energy. I'm hoping to post again soon (actually, I'm thinking I may have the time tomorrow, if I am not too busy with Tadpole, who will Not Be Going To School because her school is temporarily closed, as half the ceiling fell down on Saturday. Ahahahaha. Good thing no-one was inside the room at the time)
