*croaks* Lo, am sick.

Yesterday saw me slumped on the couch, occasionally trying to focus enough to read a little, but mostly watching Disney movies with the kids. Cos you really, really need frilly Disney movies with the happiest possible endings when you are 1) sick, 2) planning to go see Ibsen's The Wild Duck with a bunch of friends in the evening.

Tadpole: I want to watch the Incredibles.
rainette *surprised* well, OK, but didn't you say it was a scary movie?
Tadpole: 's OK, I got chocolate cookies.

Some people take it with a grain of salt. My Tadpole takes it with a chocolate cookie. And you know what? I think that's pretty smart of her. :D

Froglet *watches Cinderella II* That's Love. They're in Love.
rainette *nods vaguely*
Froglet *bats lashes, sighs prettily*
rainette *grins*
Froglet It's like Phil. He's in love with me.
rainette *sits up with a start* How do you know?
Froglet: well, he's always kissing me and hugging me, isn't he?
rainette *blinks*
Froglet: but I'm fed up.
rainette *very carefully* Ah yes?
Froglet *glumly* yeah. Cos then we're always LATE. At the zoo camp, we were always last to arrive anywhere. All the time.
rainette *blinks*

So -- What do you do when a six-year-old boy kisses your 6-year-old girl and hugs her and makes her late? I mean, she SAYS she's fed up, but with a big, self-conscious and slightly smug smile on her face, so how seriously am I supposed to take that?

Dude. She's 6. *fears teenage years leik wo*

ETA
rainette: Well, if you really don't want to be his girlfriend *winces at the thought* why don't you tell him to fall in love with Cecilia instead? Maybe she'd be pleased?
Froglet: nah, I asked her, she's not interested.
rainette: ...

I'm so not ready for this.
